Well this was a pretty good week for us. We have an investigator that is progressing really fast and just needs to get married to be able to get baptized but unlike most people he is actually willing to get married. The only problem is that he is from puno and has to get all his papers from there so we are trying to get ahold of people down there to help us. On Saturday we had a talent show in the church and it ended up just being whoever wanted to get up and sing or do something did it. well there was one guy there that was visiting and it was his first time ni the church and he got up there and started singing some Christian rock song or something and it was funny to sit and watch the members faces when he was singing because they all just wanted it to end haha. It was good to get to talk to you guys yesterday even though i have an accent hahah. this week should be pretty busy along with the week after that with meetings and conferences in Piura but it should all be pretty good. Well that’s all for this week. Love you guys.

Well hello there. This was a pretty busy week for us. Last Monday we got done playing soccer and walked past a gym and saw people playing basketball so i went and played with them for like 30 mins and it was awesome because they were people that actually played basketball and were actually really good. Ha-ha i felt stupid a few time for missing layups but oh well haha it was fun. We have been teaching a 73 year old guy named Felix and about a month ago his wife died and he was really depressed and sad and wanted us to help him out so we had been visiting him and teaching him. this week when we went to visit him we started talking to him and his daughter who lives down the street came and basically started yelling at us and yelling at her dad for listening to us and saying that we don’t believe in god and stuff and me and my companion wanted to laugh at what she was saying and she said we can’t visit him anymore and all this stuff. It was sad because when we visited him he was happy and stuff and he just sits outside his front door all day because he has nobody to talk to. Also we are teaching someone named fermin and he is progressing really fast. He wants to get baptized and has goals and everything he just needs to get married. The only difference is is that he is actually willing to get married and he is even going to travel to puno to get his paperwork. this week is going to be a pretty busy week. Tomorrow we have a meeting for district leaders in Piura that is going to take up most of the day and this weekend elder Scott from the 70 is coming to tour the mission so we have been preparing for that. Also fun fact i found out the first book of Mormon was printed on my birthday in 1830. Haha well that’s all for this week. Love you guys.

04/21/2014 Well another week down. This week was actually pretty slow for me. On Wednesday we were walking past a park and saw a bunch of people playing basketball and i wasn’t going to pass up the opportunity to play ha-ha. So we walked in and I asked them if I could play and they all said yes and it was freaking awesome playing basketball again ha-ha. I was draining threes and the hoop was about 9 feet high so i was dunking ha-ha. By the time we were done the whole court was surrounded by people watching us play. Then when I left I told them one shot from half court and i drained it. Ha-ha they all thought i played in the nab or something but really was just playing with people that are used to playing soccer ha-ha. On Thursday me and my companion went and set everything up at the church for our district meeting and waited for everyone to get there. Come to find out our district leader decided to have the meeting in marapoon and forgot to tell us ha-ha. I did spend the Thursday night and Friday morning in maroon in an exchange with elder riquelme from Chile and that was pretty cool. Morropon is pretty boring though and I’m glad I’m in chulucanas ha-ha. On Sunday we had to talk in church and I used Dieter F Uchtdorfs talk from the liahona of this month about anchors and it went pretty well. On Friday we had an open house activity in the church and got tons of references of people to teach and had a ton of people come to the activity. Yesterday we had a few lessons fall through and I wasn’t sure what to do and something told me to go visit louse (one of the references) so we did. When we got there he was a little surprised but let us in is house and i asked him if he liked the activity on Friday and he had no idea what I was talking about. He had never even heard of the church and doesn’t know anybody that is a member. But we ended up teaching him and he is pumped to keep learning and has a lot of potential. I and my companion are sure that an angel wrote that reference ha-ha. Well that’s all. Love you guys.

04/25/2014 Well this week was really normal and nothing too exciting happened haha. To keep you all updated on Luis from last week, his work ended up calling him last minute and he couldn't come to church but we are hoping he will be able to come this week. We did have about 7 new investigators that we found this week so that was pretty good. One of them came to church with us and was telling us how much he liked it and how much he wants to change his life around so we have faith in him. I do have a new addiction that started this week. huevos de codorníz. (quail eggs). They are freaking awesome. Me and my companion were walking down the street and he bought some and  I had never tried one and it is just like a mini hard boiled egg and we ended up having to go back to buy more haha. It sounds gross but I like them better than normal eggs. Yesterday we were walking down the street and this drunk guy offered me a beer and I stopped and handed him a pamphlet on the word of wisdom and I thought for sure he was going to throw something at us but he didn't haha. Also it rained for about 4 hours the other night so that was cool. Well that's all I can think of for this week. Love you guys!

05/04/2014 Well this was an okay week for us. If you guys remember I was telling you about Jose Luis for the last couple weeks. Well we were going to challenge him to baptism but we ended up finding out that he is living with his "wife". So that was depressing and also he didn't come to church yesterday. It sucks when you have such high hopes for people and they don't follow through. But we kept working and have a few investigators that are progressing. Other than that it was a pretty normal week. Today is transfers and the zone leaders called us on Saturday night and they started telling me that they are thankful for my service in Chulucanas and made it seem like I was going to leave but then they told me that I have a new assignment. I am going to be the district leader now haha. I was pretty surprised when they told me but I am pumped haha. It is going to be a little awkward because the old district leader is still in the district and I replaced him but oh well. At least I get to be in Chulucanas at least one more exchange. Love you guys.
